AI Tools

UNM provides multiple AI tools that have enterprise data protections applied to them. Some are offered as centrally supported / funded tools, while others are offered through UNM’s software store and may require purchase of an individual license. When using AI tools, users are encouraged to reference UNM’s Important Considerations When Using AI at UNM, and any guidance associated with each AI tool or service.

UNM’s centrally supported AI Platform is nebulaONE. The tool is currently being tested by a group of UNM staff, faculty, and students, with full deployment planned for Spring 2027.

nebulaONE is UNM’s official, university-supported Generative AI platform. It is also referred to as the university’s “General Purpose AI Platform.

Microsoft 365 Copilot

Microsoft 365 Copilot is a licensed service. It includes all the features in Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat and can be used for web-based (internet) and work-based (Microsoft Graph) chat. Copilot accesses data that your Microsoft Entra account has access to, like your emails and files.
